Molds on "travelling" foods

At the end of the "shipping" season and the start of the Long Island growing season, I started to think about all the mold growing on shipped produce. It is a LONG way from California to New York. That is where most organic fruit/veggies are from that come to NY after our growing season is over.

I'm not sure where the grains/dry beans and nuts are from as many times they are not labeled. These products are often moldy too.

If you have issues with mold this could be a real problem for your body. When we outwardly see mold growing it has already been growing on the food for some time.

Another reason to eat locally grown produce...or start growing your own garden/food.

Some foods that are affected are; all fruits and veggies, nuts, beans, grains, flours just about everything!

Also watch for tropical fruits, they also come a long way to most location, mangoes; pineapples, coconut, etc.(and these are often irradiated to get rid of any critters trying to hitch a ride to the US)
